As the brainchild of the multi-talented Mike Terrill, the musical outfit known as Fires of Denmark are on the verge of releasing a new album entitled Relativity. The album is set for release on November 15th, 2021. According to the group’s notes, “Relativity was recorded during the group’s week-long stay at a Frank Lloyd Wright house in Wisconsin. Terrill and his backing band ‘The Technical Imperfections’ (comprising, amongst others, his life partner Sheila Terrill and BFF Nick Truxal) lay out a captivating sound. Driven by hypnotic beats and bass-lines of endless grooves, Relativity pairs the influence of Jonny Greenwood’s synthesizers and guitars with LCD Soundsystem’s driving drum machines.”
Relativity is a 9-track wonder and a fine tribute to Fires of Denmark’s creative gnosis. The music totes an etheric touch throughout its cinematic landscape and is quite enjoyable. After opening with the brief engagement of Negentropy, we encounter a stream of dimensional compositions, which eventually lead to an enthralling and equally funky track called Start Living Outside of Time.
Fires of Denmark have truly put forth a masterful work. Relativity is scientific, entertaining, but also introspective. It is an innovative musing that affectionately touches the heart of the listener.
